"Just over a week ago I stayed for the first time at your hotel. I had not been to Sydney for 20 years and didn't know what to expect. I certainly did not expect a world class hotel with the exceptional staff that you have. I was in town for a police board conference and the "main" hotel the conference used was full. I was disappointed at first not being in that hotel but from the moment I checked into the Cambridge Suites I knew I was much better off. Your staff was quick, friendly and very helpful. I had no idea how to get to the convention centre and your staff very quickly had a map for me and gave me useable directions . The room was immaculate and as a Town Councillor I have been in many hotel rooms. Like I said, world class. Perhaps I was spoiled a bit being on the 7th floor but it was amazing and the breakfast was perfect and I must say a great idea to include with those rooms. I am returning this Friday with my wife and I am thrilled that we will be staying at your hotel. It is far too often that good service goes without recognition and so I wanted to simply inform you that you have a great hotel with great people on staff and I will make sure that the people who make plans for political conferences in Sydney are aware that people should not be disappointed if they can't get in down the street because they are sure to enjoy their stay more at the Cambridge Suites.

"In a few days I will be leaving Sydney and returning home after an almost 2 month stay.  Before I do that I wanted to take a moment to compliment the staff at Cambridge Suites Hotel where I have been staying the entire time.
I have had a wonderful time in Sydney and I owe it all to the folks at this hotel.  While I have not had a single staff member that I would not hire to work for me I would like to call out the following folks who have really been outstanding.
In no particular order:

Eileen – Who always has a friendly word on my way in or out

Shauna – Guardian of the Club Room and bartender extraordinaire

Kathleen – Who introduced me to her friends when she bumped into me out one evening

Gina – Who made sure I had cake on my birthday

Shannon – For the Buckley’s and for making the Steak and Eggs happen.

Doug – For watching over me in the evenings

Natalie – For chatting with me in the afternoons when I get back from work

Heather – For extending an excellent rate to all the Microsoft staff at the hotel

"I have been staying with you since the end of February and I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the staff members that have made my lengthy stay a positive experience.
I’m sorry to say that I don’t know all of the names of the individuals who’ve been so good to me, but hopefully you’ll know of who it is I’m speaking.
At the front desk, the girls (and Doug & John) are great!!! They always have a hello for me when I walk in the door.  They know who I am and will tell me if I have a package & look after me, and will later ask about any concerns that I may have mentioned.
The cleaning staff are wonderful.  I always have a smile on my face after Wendy leaves.  Anne is also a simply lovely person.
Last, but not least is Bobby.  He has been amazingly good to me.  Each week I’ve had to store a tremendous amount of work in the storage room.  Bobby has made sure that my things are in my room and also takes the time to bring in an extra table and set up my printer!  I can’t tell you how much that means to me after the journey here.
I’d really like to thank you and your staff for making my stay such a pleasure."

"I wanted to drop you a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your hotel earlier this month.  Players, coach and parents were very happy with the way things were organized (thanks to you!!!).  The rooms were huge and very comfortable, the meeting room provided on Sunday morning, along with tv/vcr, was perfect and the continental breakfast was just what the boys needed for game day.

"I do a lot of traveling for business and pleasure and have never experienced a more positive stay at a hotel.  Your warm, professional staff was a key part of my positive experience.  My stay was for 2 weeks which flew by in part by the clean, welcoming accommodations at Cambridge Suites.
During my stay I frequented Trio and the food was great and the service was exceptional compared to other eateries in Sydney.  I also utilized the gym facility which met my cardio needs and the view was nice.  Each day my room was serviced via top notch maids.  I also had the opportunity to use the laundry facilities which was a great plus rather than going to a laundry mat.
Once again, my overall experience was great and I’m planning on returning in July on another business trip.  I will spread the word to my other colleagues regarding a stay at Cambridge Suites is a must.
Please let your staff know that I was VERY impressed with their professionalism and warmth!"

"A letter to say what a pleasure it is for me to stay here each month.  I have traveled all over the world but have never in my life met friendlier, more professional people.  When you walk through the doors you are always made to feel welcome, which for me after a very long day on the road feels wonderful.
The front desk staff take care of all my needs and have such warmth, we soon discover we have families, interests and we are all just people doing our jobs and earning out keep.  A special thank you to Heather and Shannon in front desk and reservations, they are such sweet and lovely ladies.  The rest of the front staff are so very impressive as well!
The service in the dining room is second to none and your food quality is excellent, always delicious.  I usually order room service, and last evening when I discovered I had left some of my things back home the dining room server brought a basket full of goodies to my room.  Another example of your hospitality and warmth.  Joan your gals are the best!!
I cannot finish this without mentioning your room attendants, they work so hard everyday and yet are always happy, helpful and pleasant.  I have the turndown service at night and all the little extras that make staying here so nice.  I wanted to write this instead of an email so you would realize just how great you all are.
I would never dream of staying anywhere else!

"For the past five years, on every visit we have been accommodated at the Cambridge Suites.  My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and comfort of the hotel.  Over that time frame many of the staff have become almost extended family-Wendy and Chrissy in Housekeeping Services; Bev, Margie, Paula and Shauna in Goodies.  On this last visit all previous visits were trumped by the efforts of Eileen and staff at the front desk.
We arrived on June 14th, only to find through a misunderstanding that we did not have a reservation confirmed until June 15th.  The hotel was fully booked.  The front desk contacted a competitor and found us a room for the night.  As if this was not enough, they ensured that a room was available for us the following morning prior to normal check-in time.  Needless to say we were overwhelmed by the hotel’s hospitality when we were presented with a gift basket in a room on the Gold Floor!
Hopefully we will be back for a more informal visit in the future and will certainly stay at the Suites.  In any event we will always cherish our memories of our times at the Cambridge Suites, the wonderful staff, the superb cuisine of Goodies, the views of the harbour in all seasons and the strolls along the boardwalk. 
I am confident that you and your staff will continue to provide the same services to all clients as you have for us.  Keep up the great hospitality and friendship you provide."

"When my colleague and I arrived on Tuesday morning after what had been, for me, a 27 hour journey from Boston, we surely appeared to the young lady at the front desk to be worthy of a second look.  We were rather tiered and disheveled and altogether a bit short with the world at large but Heather put us at ease immediately and she made our checkin quick and efficient and this was no easy task in general (though for Heather, I imagine that it is routine).  We were very, very happy with her help and her guidance and given how we had been feeling we could not have been happier at that moment.  First contacts can be so important in customer service and Heather did an extraordinary job.  Not only that day but in the next day or two when we spoke to her again.
We worked odd hours that week and so we ate in the hotel more than we would normally have done and I am proud to say that I have often been told that the best food in Sydney is served at Goodies, your hotel restaurant, and I am happy to say that we all agree that that is true.  In addition, one member of your dining room staff stood out for her excellent service on several night and her name is Paula (this is no slight regard to your staff as they were all excellent).  Paula was professionalism herself on every evening and her dining suggestions were taken to heart at every opportunity.  The meals were excellent as was her company.  You deserve you reputation wholeheartedly.
And lastly but not least, we were very much impressed with Shauna with her friendly, courteous and knowledgeable service.  She is exactly the right person in the right position and she made our evening an extraordinary experience.  And this was before she was able to explain, without hesitation, why a beautiful, locally cut Christmas tree is sent to Boston from your area every year.  We each felt that the time spent in this hotel bar at least equaled, if not surpassed, the enjoyment that we experienced in Goodies.  I can see why so many of the locals stop in on those long winter evenings to enjoy your surroundings.  In addition, Shauna is great company herself.
I am also sure that your firm has some sort of recognition program for exceptional employees and I would humbly suggest that all three be recognized for their dedicated and exceptional service.  Staying in your hotel and being able to interact with such people allows us to have the most of our time in your friendly and your beautiful part of the world.
I hope to return to Sydney in the next few months and, if so, then there is no question as to where I would want to stay again.  Best wishes to you and to your continued success."

"Although the above awards ask to cast your vote for an individual person, my request would be that the committee would count my vote for 'Cambridge Suites Hotel, Sydney, Nova Scotia'. After spending five days at the hotel, it is impossible to single out one person, and I would like to tell you just a few of our many experiences. From the afternoon of July 11, 2002, when we arrived at the hotel, the reception staff went our of their way to find times of services at local churches, directions to car washes, etc… all the time with friendly and smiling faces. The (porter) attendant who washed under our car when he saw that the car wash did not get off the mud, the room attendant who knocked on the door before she left for the day to see if I needed anything and if I was feeling better (as I was not feeling well that morning), the maintenance man who went beyond the call of duty to help my husband with the room keys, the servers at Trio Restaurant both morning and evening who always went the extra mile to make sure you had the right paper, the water for your medicine, to making sure they had freshly picked strawberries. The excellent chef who knew our love for Rack of Lamb and made sure that your plate was a showpiece and the taste was so very pleasing to your palate. All of the above services were administered by staff who showed pride in their work and admiration for the company they work for and it certainly was passed on to each and every person they have the pleasure of serving. I am sure you will now understand why I would like to nominate, 'Cambridge Suites Hotel, Sydney' for the above (Pineapple Award of Hospitality) award."

"I was at your hotel last Wednesday night and woke up to a blizzard on Thursday morning and therefore ended up doing business from my room that day. Thank God I was staying at your hotel and not the normal one room units most hotels have to offer. I was able to use my lap top to get online in my room, and was on the phone and also sending and receiving faxes that day, so even though the roads were closed it was business as usual for me. I have been staying at your hotel since we expanded our business to Cape Breton in 1997, and I must say that of all the places I stay in Nova Scotia, I enjoy staying at the Cambridge most of all. The suites are large and always clean, many of your staff have been with you since I started staying there and are always friendly and willing to help in any way. Of course it also helps that you have the best restaurant in town "Trio" just off the lobby, where the food is great and once again so are the staff. Thank you for looking after me and others from our company that have frequented your hotel for the past seven years, and I look forward to being back at the Cambridge Suites in the very near future."

"I am writing to compliment the Cambridge Suites Management and Staff on the exemplary service they offered during my recent stay. Having been previously employed as a sales manager who traveled throughout Canada, I have had extensive experience with the hospitality industry across the country. I have found few, if any, that could compete with the calibre of the product and people I encountered at the Cambridge Suites Sydney. My stay at the Cambridge Suites Sydney was a extended one, unfortunately at a time of family crisis. Circumstances also necessitated that I operate my business from a suite on-site. The Cambridge Staff went well beyond the expected norms to assist me with any and all difficulties and to make my stay comfortable. They, in fact, were perceived more as friends or extended family, rather than hotel employees by the end of my reservation. Even my patients, who had been re-directed to our office within the Cambridge Suites Sydney, commented on the friendly nature of the staff who had assisted them or offered directions. The Cambridge made, what should have been, a very difficult time, so much easier. The staff of Trio, also deserve commendation for the consistently high quality of both food and service. It is no surprise that Trio is seen as "The" Restaurant in Sydney. Once again, I would like to compliment the Cambridge Suites on their operation and on a job well done. "How the time has passed ! It is now very close to 15 years that I have been staying at the "Suites" in Sydney. I can remember when the building was being built. I also remember meeting you when the doors first opened and you were welcoming the first customers. A lot has changed since then with updates and constant improvements to the building. However , something has not changed , and that is the excellent service you provide to your customers. That applies to your entire staff !
